Walkers and Cyclists

Walkers

The Peak District is one of the UK’s most popular walking destinations. Whether you fancy a strenuous hike or leisurely stroll there is something for everyone to enjoy and plenty to be seen. To help you plan your stay and explore the Peak District here are some of our favourite walks.

Walk to Chatsworth from Baslow

This walk visits three very different Peak District villages: Baslow, Edensor and Pilsley. The route takes advantage of the public right of way that runs through Chatsworth Park from Baslow, passing within a few hundred feet of Chatsworth House. Please park in the car park at the eastern end of Baslow, just off the A 619 from Chesterfield. Click here for more information.

Linacre Reservoir

Cutthorpe, Chesterfield, S42 7JW

Well marked trails make it easy to explore the three small reservoirs and surrounding woodland. Perfect for a gentle stroll, bird watching, cycling and picnics. Don’t forget to stop off at the Gate Inn on the way back to sample a local ale and enjoy the log fire on winter’s day.
